Metro Families,

The Fall 2019 rosters/schedules have been released and are available via www.xichockey.com. We apologize for any inconvenience as we had to make scheduling changes to accommodate two extra teams at the 18U age division. That being said, each Metro division is poised for a really exciting season.

10U Age Division

10U Division Captain: We are excited to announce that Paul Neustadter has agreed to serve as the Division Captain for the 10U age division. Paul will help Cullen and Andy to create a positive and exciting experience for all 10U players this Fall. We feel that Paul has been a positive role model for players and coaches within the XIC Hockey community. Paul will serve as an extension of Cullen and Andy specifically for the 10U age division.

12U Age Division

12U Division Captain: JD Williams will serve as the Division Captain for the 12U age division. As stated in the description above, JD will serve as an extension of Cullen and Andy specifically for the 12U age division. JD has been a positive influence on the XIC Hockey community and has gone above and beyond to help grow youth hockey at XIC and beyond.

12U Skills Nights: With the number of players at the 12U age division, the XIC Hockey staff and 12U coaches will orchestrate skills sessions on Monday nights where every team will be on the ice. The focus of these sessions will be player development and age-appropriate training. Teams will supplement the skills learned on Monday nights during team-specific practices and game nights throughout the course of the season. By using this format, each player will receive more practice time over the course of the Fall and get more ice and puck touches as a result.

14U/16U/18U Age Division

14U/16U/18U Division Captain: Joe Ladogana will serve as the Division Captain for our 18U Metro group this season. Joe is a veteran coach and has worked closely with the XIC Hockey staff over the last 5 years to grow hockey at the introductory level and develop players within the Metro league. Joe will serve as an extension of Cullen and Andy and communicate with players and coaches to ensure a positive experience across the 18U division.

Silver and Gold Division: Due to the range in age and skill level at the 18U division, we have decided to divide teams up into a Silver and Gold division. The Silver division will be made up mostly of 14U and 16U players and serve as a competitive space where players can develop their skills. The Gold division will be made up mostly of 16U and 18U players and serve as a competitive experience for our Charlotte-based Tier I and Tier II players.

Lady Rush: Within the Silver division, we are excited to announce that we will field an all-girls’ experience via the Lady Rush. This is a really positive sign for girls’ hockey in the Carolinas. This team will be competitive in the Silver division and add to their roster as more girls show interest in the program.

Other Metro Notes

Jerseys: We are working with our printer to have jerseys ready by Wednesday night. While it looks like there might be a slight delay in delivery, we will keep you updated as we receive information.

We are really excited to kick off the Fall 2019 Metro season this Wednesday night. Please let us know if you have any questions and thank you for being a part of the XIC Hockey community.

See you on the ice!
