If you are interested in joining OTHA, you are encouraged to sign-up as soon as possible at our web site, www.otha.org, (or see NOTE 2 below) to be placed in the appropriate queue immediately. Based on past experience, the leagues tend to fill up rapidly. 

Below you have an example of how we populate our leagues. Each section is ultimately ranked on a first-come first-serve basis.

Priority for next season’s league entry for players deemed acceptable to OTHA’s standards and philosophy, and who register before the DDD:

1. Current players;
2. Current players who are changing leagues;
3. Returning players who missed the current season due to injury, illness or similar situation;
4. Returning players who missed the current season;
5. And new players.

 

Should there be an overflow, the queue order will be based on the registration/payment date.

 Priority for next season’s  league entry for players who register after the DDD:

Entirely based on the registration/payment date.

 

NOTE 1: New Players must be evaluated before being accepted; OTHA will host a tryout game before every season and all New Players must participate or otherwise clearly make their hockey skills known and that their attitude will fit in OTHA’s philosophy.

Annual Membership fee:

Provides funds for Member social activities such as post-playoff celebrations upstairs, non-hockey outings, and other social activities. The fee for the calendar year is set at $20 and is included in your player hockey registration fee.

a. This fee will enable a non-active player to be officially recognized as a Member of OTHA, and grants the privileges of being:

i. placed on the team OTHA Waiting List

ii. placed on the OTHA Mailing List

iii. placed on the OTHA Lunch List

iv. eligible to play for OTHA in hockey tournaments

v. eligible to play for OTHA in golf tournaments

vi. invited to OTHA organized pick-up games

vii. eligible for inclusion in the OTHA Business Directory

 

Jersey Deposit Fee: $20.

Each OTHA player is provided a team jersey from the league. To establish a fund for Jersey replacement (since many have walked off) and to assure that jerseys get returned to the OTHA at the end of each season, a Jersey Deposit of $20 will be included in your player hockey registration fee.

a. Every player will pay a one-time deposit of $20 for the "use" of each jersey he/she borrows from the League.

b. This deposit is fully refundable upon the return of the jersey when leaving the OTHA.

c. It is the players’ responsibility to assure that jerseys get back to his/her Captain at the end of each Season. Any non-returned jersey will result in the forfeiture of the initial Deposit and an additional Deposit Fee being charged for the next season.

Hockey Player Fees: $330/375, depending on night of play and number of players on a team.

This fee actually pays for the direct costs of running the league and paying the rink for ice time, officials, scorekeepers, etc.
