Hello 6U Mini Checkers Families,
We hope everyone is having a great week and looking forward to Game Night tomorrow night from 6:15 to 7:00 PM on the XIC Main Rink. Please see a couple of items below as we prepare for tomorrow:
Zone A: Dragons (White) vs. Gophers (Red)
Zone B: Stars (White) vs. Snowballs (Red)
Game Format and Skills Area
We have received a couple of questions regarding the 6U game format and the use of a Skills Area. The format of our 6U game nights is designed to deliver 3v3 cross-ice games. Working within a smaller space will allow for more puck touches per player and encourage skill development. The 6U group will also have a "Skills Area" in the middle of the ice for players to play in while they are waiting to jump back in the game. The skills area is intended to provide kids with an opportunity for unstructured play. We will have pucks, tennis balls, soccer balls, and other fun toys to inspire creativity and create a fun environment.
We look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow night for Friday Night Mites! Let us know if you have any questions.
