The XIC Travel Hockey program focuses on skill development and personal growth for all players. We believe that hockey is the ultimate in team sports and our program will focus on skill development with an emphasis on skating, goaltending, and teaching players to compete. Players that participate in our program will also learn essential life skills that include teamwork, hard work, respect, and accountability. Every player should become a better hockey player and a better citizen as a result of playing in our organization.
The team’s league games, in addition to strong tournament and non-league schedules, form a competitive environment for players to gain experience as well as to test their progress as individuals and as a team. As proponents of USA Hockey’s American Development Model, the XIC Travel Hockey uses quality ice time that values practices and proper training above all else. Some principles of the program include pursuing age-specific Long-Term Athlete Development, scheduling a practice-to-game ratio that fits the age group, and promoting a sense of “community” within the club to help its participants become better hockey players and citizens.
